Hong Kong Treble Choirs' Association proudly presents the 2013 Hong Kong International Youth and Children's Choir Festival (HKIYCCF). This Festival had ever been held in 2006, 2008 and 2011 respectively, over 100 choirs from Estonia, Romania, USA, Congo, South Africa, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Philippines, North Korea, New Zealand and Macao SAR gathered in Hong Kong to share the joy of singing - in concerts and competitions.
Funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, supported by International Federation for Choral Music and the Chinese Society for Music Education, the HKIYCCF gained international recognition and acclaim.
About the Festival
The Hong Kong International Youth & Children's Choir Festival was initiated by Prof. Leon Shiu-wai TONG, First Vice-president of International Federation for Choral Music, Vice-president of Treble Choirs' Committee, China Chorus Association and President of Hong Kong Treble Choirs' Association. The Festival aims to promote choral exchange activities and to nurture singers' and conductors' exposure through meeting well-known choirs in Hong Kong.
Apart from competitions and concerts, there are master classes, choral workshops and clinics conducted by world renowned choral music experts.
Ivana Wong, known as the 'Queen of Singer-songwriters', possess a gifted musical talent, with long, soft hands made just for playing the piano, and an angelic voice that touches everyone's hearts. Ivana achieved many awards since then including seven consecutive years of the 'Commercial Radio Singer-songwriter Awards'. Last year, Ivana also achieved the Most Popular Female Singer in Hong Kong for the Asia Pacific at Television Broadcast JSG Award Presentation.
The Organizing Committee is glad to announce that 'We Dare to Dream' by Mr. Chris O'Hara has been chosen to be the Theme Song of 2013 HKIYCCF.
