Message from Artistic Director – Prof. Leon Shiu-wai TONG
The World Youth and Children’s Choir Festival – Hong Kong, former Hong Kong International Youth and Children’s Choir Festival, has been held in 2006, 2008, 2011 and 2013.
I am honored to announce that Hong Kong Treble Choirs' Association proudly presents the 2015 WYCCF which will be held in 13 – 18 July 2015.
The Festival is one of the first international choral festivals that combines the features of competitions, concerts, masterclasses and workshops. We aim to provide a platform for choral lovers from all over the world to enjoy quality competitions, concerts and classes all in one Festival.
We will continue to invite world renowned choral experts to adjudicate the competitions under a internationally recognized jury system. This time, we have also invited 3 prominent choral maestros including Dr. Allred from North America, Mr. Szabo from Europe as well as Mr. Carpio from Asia to conduct master classes and workshops for the participants. World-famous choirs including Cantemus Pro Musica Girls' Choir and Sydney Children’s Choir are also invited to perform in concerts and demonstrate in workshops.
In 2013, we are honored to be supported by the International Federation for Choral Music and Chinese Society for Music Education. The Festival has attracted about 70 choirs from 40 different regions to join. This year, there will be 9 categories of competition, 10 concerts and more than 10 workshops for choral music lovers from around the world.
